Grocery List 101 -
1) Be specific: Instead of writing “snacks” write “carrot sticks”, “popcorn”, “plain yogurt”.
2) Write down items that you need to be healthy.
3) Bring the list to the store.
4) Stick to the list.
Most people do not write down on their grocery list, “cookies”, “candy”, “chips” etc. Those items are impulsive purchases and usually discounted if you buy more than one. Do not fall prey to this - focus on the items that are going to help you stay healthy. Not only will you be sticking to your healthy food regimen but you will save money by not buying all the extras AND save time by having a plan of attack at the grocery store.
