This exercise has always been a challenge for me. The body position requires torso strength.  You can see that the bottom arm needs to be firm.  The top arm has to reach with a purpose.  The raised leg has to lift from the hip.  So many things to think about, to distract, to throw you off balance but you have to make it simple.

Like this posture and most things in life, we tend to make things more complicated but realistically it’s simple.  In this case, you must root before you rise.   If I try to rush into this posture without a strong foundation then I will always fall.  I have found that is true in life as well.  If I am secure with myself and connected to my loved ones then everything that I do feels manageable and everything that I want seems obtainable.
