I just got news from a friend that he has lung, liver and brain cancer.  There was nothing for me to say so we hugged.  He told me he was going to try a vegetable diet that is suppose to cleanse the body and has been very successful in helping others with cancer.  He asked me if I had heard of it because he sees me drinking my “green stuff” all the time.  I had not.

Later that day our conversation got me thinking.  Why don’t more people drink the “green stuff”? (It actually tastes very good.)  If a person can drink it to try to rid an illness and stay alive then why not drink it when you have no illness to stay healthy.
I get made fun of all the time about my shakes and drinks and smoothies.  Do you think my friend will be made fun of when he is drinking his shakes, drinks and smoothies?  I am not sure exactly why we as a society accept those who are diseased to start taking earnest measures to care for their body but the rest who are seemingly healthy are given a hard time to want to prevent disease.

It doesn’t makes any sense to me.  We all want to stay healthy, most of us hope for it, some of us do a little and a few of us do a lot.  It seems like wanting and hoping to stay healthy is where people exist.  Why not start doing something about it every day?
